Brands Hatch is owned by MotorSport Vision who own 5 race circuits across the UK including Oulton Park, Snetteron, Cadwell Park and Bedford Autodrome.
The history of Brands Hatch starts back to 1926 when it was used as a race circuit for dirt bikes with the first real race taking place in 1928.
The Brands Hatch circuit was surfaced properly in 1950 to create a 1 mile oval circuit that would allow cars to race one it, it continued to have development and in 1924 the circuit had been expanded to 1.24 miles with the addition of the famous Druids Bend, this is when a pit lane was also added and the circuit went from running in an anti-clockwise direction to the clockwise direction that it runs in today.
In 1959 there was more construction to the Brands Hatch circuit that lengthened it to 2.65 miles and named the "Grand Prix circuit" with the shorter circuit known as the "Indy circuit".
In 1964 Brands Hatch held it's first British Grand Prix with it's last British Grand Prix to date being the 1986 one that was won by Nigel Mansell.
