Button scores more points finishing fifth to win World Championship than the whole of last season

Jenson Buttons fifth places at São Paulo, Brazil, scored him 4 World Champions points which was enough to clinch him the Formula 1 World Championship, this is 1 more point than he managed to score in the WHOLE of the 2008 season!

jenson button f1 car Button scores more points finishing fifth to win World Championship than the whole of last seasonIn 2008, racing for the BAR Honda team, Button managed to score a grand total of just 3 points and finished in a miserable 18th position. Yesterdays 5th position got the British driver 4 points and has upped his total (with 1 race to go) to 89 points.

It goes a long way to show that the car that is beneath the driver makes such a huge difference to how they perform and it is thanks to Brawn GP having a great car at the start of the season that saw Jenson Button win 6 of the first 7 races and Brawn GP win the first 8 races!

11 years for Jenson Button to be a Champion again

It has taken Jenson Button 11 years to become a Champion again after the last time he held a Championship trophy as an 18 year old back in 1998 when racing for Heywood Racing team in the British Formula Ford championship.

Today, he is the Formula 1 World Champion and takes the title from fellow British driver Lewis Hamilton, the first time in 40 years of a back-to-back British champion since Graham Hill & Jackie Stewart did it back in 1968 and 1969.

The feat is even more impressive as it comes in the debut season for Brawn GP, headed by Manchester born Ross Brawn.

Hopefully it won’t be another 11 years for Jenson Button to be champion again and we hope that he will continue to win and get the form that he started the 2009 season with.

Formula-1 is the ultimate in driving, having had 2 World champions in Britain the last 2 seasons will make single seater driving experiences even more popular as people want to experience what it is like to drive a single seater race car like Jenson Button.

Massa to drive Ferrari again after Karting test

Felipe Massa has got behind the wheel again after his horrific accident in the qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix back in July in his Ferrari.

He may only have got behind the wheel of a Kart but he has spent a few days now karting and has his personal doctor there with him to monitor him.

The Ferrari ace needed life saving surgery after he was hit in the head with a suspension spring while driving at almost 200 mph in his single seater F1 race car.

It was thought that Massa would not race again until 2010 at the earliest but there is now chance that he may get an early come back in one of the 2 remaining Grand Prix left of the F1 season after the Japanese Grand Prix this Sunday.

Providing all goes to plan he will definitely be racing again next season as Ferrari have kept his seat open to drive the Ferrari alongside new team mate Fernando Alonso.

Ferrari to have Alonso drive for them

Ferrari are to set to sign Fernando Alonso as their new driver for 2010 on a 2 year deal that will earn him around £20 million!

The other Ferrari driver will be Felipe Massa with Kimi Raikkonen looking likely to move to McLaren.

We eould all love the chance to earn the vast sums of money that Alonso is going to get while getting to drive a Ferrari, we can however get a taste of what he is slightly getting to experience by booking a Ferrari driving experience.

There are plenty of Ferrari driving experiences around the UK to book on to that let you get to live the dream and be in the drivers seat of the Dancing Horse., however if you prefer the F1 style of driving experience then you can book a single seater experience where you get to drive in a racing car that is aimed at just going fast with it’s aerodynamic design and lightweight construction.

So we think if you want to get as close to being Fernando Alonso as possible then you need to book a Ferrari driving day and a Single seater experience icon smile Ferrari to have Alonso drive for them
