The Ariel Atom is very lightweight and weighs in at just 456kg and comes with either a 245bhp engine 300bhp if you get the supercharged one. Now when you factor in the weight and engine power you will see it works out at 600bhp per ton which is just immense and is little wonder that it can do a 0-60 time in 2.7 seconds!
For those Top Gear fans out there, the Ariel Atom sits right up towards the top of their Fastest Lap leaderboard in 11th spot and did it’s lap of the Top Gear track in 1.19.5, just 1.2 seconds slower than Bugatti Veyron and only half a second slower than a Ferrari Enzo!
As a comparison back the the Lamborghini Gallardo that managed a lap in 1.25.7 it shows that it is in another league in the speed stakes!
