Sir Stirling Moss is to race at Oulton Park in a special “Sterling Moss Trophy” race.
The “Sterling Moss Trophy” is for sports cars which were made pre 1961 and will feature the great man himself competing in the race. The event will take place on the August bank holiday weekend 29/30 August at Oulton Park for the annual Oulton Park Gold Cup.
Sir Stirling Moss is often referred to as “the greatest driver never to win a World Championship” and won 16 Grand Prix in his time as an F1 driver.
The Gold Cup is an event he also had much success with, having won it 5 times in total which included the 196- race where he was racing against the legendary Jack Brabham and Graham Hill.
Admission to Oulton Park for the Gold Cup costs either £17 for a Sunday or Monday ticket if bought online or £21 if you pay on the gate. A weekend ticket is also available for a cost of £27 when bought online.
The cars racing on the day will include: 70s Road Sports, Historic Road Sports, Historic Formula Ford, Classic Racing Cars, Historic Formula Junior, Historic Formula Ford 2000, Guards Trophy, Classic Formula 3, Historic Formula 5000 and Formula 2 for the Derek Bell Trophy.

Oulton Park is around 30 miles away from the middle of Manchester and is one of the best motor racing circuits in the UK.
Three Sisters race circuit and Pro Karting venue is located in Wigan and only 23 miles from the middle of Manchester.
Daytona Manchester is one of the leading UK indoor karting venues. The Dayton circuit is a tarmac circuit (not usual for indoor karting) and as such offers lots of grips for the karts to race around on.
