Ferrari car made out of clothes

A replica of the famous Ferrari F1 racing car has been recreated in a Puma store by using £40,000 of clothing.

The F1 car was made using 1999 items which included 1682 T-shirts, 88 pairs of jeans, 64 pairs of shoes, 31 belts, water bottles, sunglasses, baseball cap and a backpack.

The car measures 14 feet long with the designers spending a week in a studio experimenting how to construct it out of clothing. The car was then built in 5 hours overnight by 8 people in the Puma store in Carnaby Street, London.

Since the single seater racing car is made out of piles of clothes people are not allowed to touch it as it would likely damage it. It was done to mark the partnership between Ferrari and Puma of the new PUMA racing shoes.

A time lapse video was created so you can see how the Ferrari clothing car was built with the Ferrari cap on the end of the nose cone being one of the best features.
